Welcome to KILS
Kobe International Language School is a renowned language school in the center of Kobe. Kobe is a major Japanese city with a population of around 1.5 million and is one of the three major cities in the Kansai region alongside Osaka and Kobe.
From Kobe, it is only a few minutes by train to Osaka and Kobe, which means that regular visits to the neighboring cities are part of the weekly schedule for many students. Compared to the two neighboring cities, Kobe offers the advantage that the city is not overrun by tourists – and is therefore ideal for longer stays.
KILS offers language courses for beginners and advanced learners and is a good school for anyone who wants to take a serious look at the Japanese language.

What our students say
I had always wanted to do a work and travel year abroad in Japan and planned a year for it after my A-levels. I chose Kobe International School because I wanted to get away from mainstream tourism and was looking for a city that wasn't at the top of every travel guide's list. I hadn't been to Kobe before, but as soon as I arrived I noticed how super clean the city was.
I actually wanted to study in Nagano, but as the courses for beginners there don't start in January, I decided to go to Kobe instead. The language school made a super professional impression and I really enjoyed the lessons. I particularly liked the fact that there are not so many students from Europe at the school, so I was able to broaden my horizons and get to know people from other countries around the world with whom you would otherwise have less contact.
