Learning and Living in Japan

If you're planning an extended stay in Japan, staying in a hotel room for weeks or months isn't ideal. Finding housing in Japan can be challenging due to limited availability, but you can rely on us to handle the search for suitable accommodation and navigate the associated bureaucracy. With our wide range of accommodation options, we can swiftly find your place so you can focus on the most important task—preparing for your trip!

Options for Your Accommodation

Student Residence

In our language schools' student residences, you will share accommodation with your fellow students. You have your own room and share the bathroom and kitchen with your flatmates. The accommodation is quite large, so you can socialize with your flatmates at any time, but you can also retreat to your room.

Shared Flat

If you choose one of our single rooms, you will reside in a shared apartment with other international and language students who may not necessarily attend the same school as you. Our accommodations typically feature 5 to 20 rooms, making them smaller in scale compared to student residences.

Homestay/Host Family

Living with a host family offers a close-up experience of Japanese culture. You'll have your own room and share a bathroom and kitchen with the host family. This option includes breakfast and dinner, ensuring you don't have to worry about meals.

Living with Japanese People

With this accommodation option, you reside in a shared flat with other young people, similar to the 'single room' option. The advantage here is that most of your flatmates are native Japanese speakers, offering a prime opportunity for successful language exchange.
This option is exclusively available in Tokyo.

Single Apartment

If you choose to have your own apartment, we will assist you in finding a suitable place on the Japanese housing market. You'll have your own space with private bathroom and kitchen facilities, without sharing with anyone else. Please note, our own apartments are arranged for a minimum stay of 6 months.

Without Accommodation

Of course, booking accommodation through Nipponcademy is optional—you can also search for a room yourself. We recommend this option especially for shorter stays of just a few weeks, as hotel rooms or apartments via Airbnb can sometimes be more cost-effective in the short term.
